  • Rules:
    • Registration must be done through online process. (website: www.cbsegames.in)
    • Schools must carry a signed copy of the eligibility Performa that must be filled online.
    • Schools must carry ID card as per CBSE online format.
    • Student must carry two passport size photographs and Aadhar Card.
    • For students studying in Class IX & above, their CBSE registration number must be provided.
    • School to carry the team photo with school Principal, countersigned by the concerned Principal.
    • Schools should carry a bonafied certificate provided by the school
    • All schools must carry original documents in case of verification.
    • All schools will have to pay a caution deposit of Rs. 3000, which will be refundable.
    • Schools will be charged Rs. 350/student towards accommodation & food per day.
    • Schools should carry a copy of their sports fee receipt.
    • School should carry their school flag for the march past during the opening ceremony.

    ELIGIBILITY AGE::
    • A player shall be under 11; 14; 17; & 19 years of age as on 31 Dec of the year of event. Accordingly, for session 2018-19 sports events, the age criteria will be as follows:
    • Under 11 years: Born on or after 01.01.2008
    • Under 14 years: Born on or after 01.01.2005
    • Under 17 years: Born on or after 01.01.2002
    • Under 19 years: Born on or after 01.01.2000

    Hockey Rules(Boys & Girls)
    • The matches shall be played according to the rules as adopted by Indian Hockey Federation/Indian Women’s Hockey Federation, unless, otherwise modified in these rules.
    • At Zone level, the tournament up to the semi-final stage will be on knockout basis. From the semi-final stage the matches shall be played on Round Robin league basis.
    • At Zone level, if number of teams is less, the tournament can be organized on league basis.
    • First two position winning teams in different age group from each Zone will qualify to play in the National.
    • If any match played on knock out basis ends in a draw, it shall be played to the finish and the procedure shall be as follows:
    • After the normal playing period of 70 minutes (35-5-35), if the game ends in a draw, an extra time of 15 minutes (7 ½ - 7 ½) of extra time may be given. If tie still persist, the tie-breaker rule shall be applied.
    • In the case of under 14 yrs age group, time duration can be reduced by the Organizing School during the meeting of the Coaches/Managers before the tournament begins.
    • The National level Championship will be played on league-cum knockout basis, where all the teams will be divided into pools. From each pool, the team emerging on top two positions will qualify for semi final stage matches.
    • In the matches played on league basis and ending in a draw, points may be shared by both the teams.
    • In case after the league matches, tie still persists (meaning two or more teams ending up with equal points) the following procedure may adopted:
    • Goal difference = “Goal for” minus “Goal against”.
    • If the tie still remains between the two schools, the winner will be decided by applying the tie- breaker rule amongst the team in tie.
    • All the results of a school withdrawing in the mid-stream shall be cancelled and no goal shall be awarded to the schools against whom the withdrawing school had to play.
    • At national level, a match (for third position) will also be played between the two losing semi-finalist teams to decide the third & fourth place.
    • In case, a team is asked to play two matches in a day, there should be at least a gap of 2 to 3 hours between two matches.
    • Each school shall submit a list of players not exceeding eighteen who may participate in the tournament.
    • The Merit Certificates shall be awarded to teams winning first three positions. All the other participants shall be awarded with Participation Certificates who actually participated in the tournament.
    • The school Organizing Zone level competition shall take a Group Photo of the teams that have qualified to participate at National level competition. The photo shall be signed by the host school Principal and forwarded to the school Organizing National level competition along with the original entry Performa.
    • Protest if any, must be supported by documentary proof.
    • Note: The winners of the CBSE National Hockey Championship will be recommended to participate in the Jawaharlal Nehru Hockey Tournament.

    Do’s and Don’ts:
    • The coaches will stay along with the students.
    • Drinking Liquor and smoking is strictly prohibited. The school has a zero tolerance policy on this. Anyone caught flaunting this rule the team will be immediately disqualified from the competition at any stage.
    • Due to security reasons, school teams must depart together. individual gate passes will not be granted to participants to leave the school campus once they have registered. gate passes to leave the campus will only be issued at the end of the competition.
    • Parents are not eligible for any facilities provided to the school teams.
    • You are requested to bring your own lock & Key.
    • Please do not keep any valuable things in the room. The host team will not be responsible for any such loss.
    • School uniform should be worn during opening ceremony.
    • Please make it a point to be punctual for all events and the meals.
    • Please do not litter in the campus or in your room. Use dustbin.
    • In case one feels sick or indisposed, contact the infirmary.
    • No one should play in the rooms or in corridors.
    • No player is allowed to leave the premises after 06:00 pm strictly to be followed.
    • Misbehavior on ground by players or accompanying official will not be tolerated.
    • Inclusion of non-bonafide student in the team will lead to disqualification of the team.
    • Use of abusive language by athlete for accompanying official will not be tolerated.
    • Misbehavior with Officials/Opponents by player or accompanying official will not be tolerated.
    • Indiscipline at the place of stay by player or accompanying official will not be tolerated.
    • Damaging the school property will be considered as breach of conduct.
    • Indiscipline during the Opening and Closing ceremonies by player or accompanying official.
